On the Beaten Track Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

RFB123: This cache has been archived. Unfortunately, the cache seems to have gone missing (not for the first time either). The footpath sign has also fallen down! (it was placed near to the base of this). I think it best to archive this until a new footpath sign is in place and the fence/wall running alongside has been rebuilt (as this has come somewhat into disrepair too).

Geocache Description:

A quick cache-and-dash to a part of East Bergholt that doesn't often get seen, and yet is right next to the very well beaten track of the village centre! Boasts some stunning views on the way across the Dedham Vale. Easily accessible by all throughout the year.

Parking in East Bergholt is available in the village centre, and is clearly signposted upon entering the area. Further car parking is available outside the nearby church. Both car parks are free, although can occasionally be busy at peak times.

East Bergholt is a charming village made famous by the artist John Constable. I hope you enjoy looking round the quaint village centre and nearby Flatford.

The country lane where the cache is located is the start of a footpath through to nearby Stratford St. Mary - the path occasionally gets quite muddy and comes out near the church, which makes a lovely walk if you've got the time.

The cache is a small tupperware container inside a plastic bag and should be clearly visible (after a little bit of hunting!) Please look out for muggles - this isn't a muggle heavy zone but you never know when a tribe of walkers will suddenly appear up the hill! Please replace the cache lid carefully.
