Back in the '50's and 60's, the Sammamish Slough was full of
power boats racing back and forth between Lake Washington and Lake
Sammamish.

It got so bad that they had to install traffic signals every few
miles to manage the traffic. This just led to drag racing from
signal to signal.

King County grew tired of the racing and in 1964 installed a
weir near the Lake Sammamish outlet. Much to the surprise of County
engineers, this weir not only stopped all power boat traffic, it
also nearly eliminated flooding in the Sammamish River valley.
You are looking for the southern-most signal box located just at
the mouth of the Sammamish Slough.
If you are paddling to this cache, there is a dock just up the
slough and parking available for $1.00 at Marymoor Park. There is
also the Sammamish boat launch at the south end of the lake for
those motoring on up.
Note: Most of the statements in this cache
listing are false and have been manufactured to confuse
you.
