I figured it was time for me to finally place my first puzzle cache, now that I have a few mystery cache finds under my belt.
I was out hunting caches with the geodogz when I decided to hide this cache, but all didn't go according to plan. I'm still not used to the early winter nights and it got dark before we knew it. In my haste I took some GPS readings as best I could, but when I got home, I couldn't make sense of them. None of the readings seemed to match up to the place where I hid the cache. Then I remembered that I had another app running on my phone when I took the readings, and somehow there must have been a mix up.
Listed below are the six coordinates as listed on my GPS/phone. Finding the relationship between these six coordinates should lead you to the seventh. It is not necessary to actually visit the six locations, and no math is needed.
1: N 41° 45.313' W 71° 26.037'
2: N 41° 47.072' W 71° 25.167'
3: N 41° 49.364' W 71° 25.936'
4: N 41° 48.896' W 71° 23.620'
5: N 41° 47.385' W 71° 24.434'
6: N 41° 45.399' W 71° 23.404'
7: N 41° ??.???' W 71° ??.???'
When you solve the mystery of the seventh missing location, you will discover a parking area and an obvious appropriately themed building. Go to the front of this building. Here you will have to collect some information to help you hunt down the coordinates to the actual cache location.
A = the number of steps leading to the front door =
B = the number of windows with bars that are to the right of the front doors =
C= the number of black plates bolted on the front doors =
D = the number of words above the front doors =
About 50 feet south of the front doors, there is a tree with a dedication plaque in front of it. Obtain the four digit number of the first year listed. That four digit number will represent EFGH
The final is located at N41° 4(A+E).(C)(E+G)(E) W071° 2(B).(G)(B+D)(F)
The area of the cache location is is only open from 7am to 9pm.
I suspect that some will be able to solve this rather quickly and others may need some help. No hints are currently provided, but I will update with clues once the cache has been found.
