Geocache Description:

Event date is Sunday October 9, 2011 from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM. This is a hands on introduction to Disc Golf. There will be a temporary disc golf course set up as well as an area for putting.

Location is McCollum Park (Coordinates are for parking). The course will be set up in the wooded area and a putting basket will be set up in an open area. Show up anytime between 8:30 AM to 11:00. This will be followed by a meet & greet at the Silver Lake Alfy’s from 11:00 AM to 1:15 PM (See GC3387W). If you ever or never heard of disc golf this is the event for you. Disc golf (Frisbee golf to some) is a growing sport with quite a few courses in the greater Puget Sound. Disc golf is a disc game in which individual players throw a flying disc into a basket or at a target. According to the Professional Disc Golf Association, "The object of the game is to traverse a course from beginning to end in the fewest number of throws of the disc. Of the more than 3000 (over 4000 now) established disc golf courses as of 2010, approximately 87% are free. The game is played in about 40 countries around the world. So don’t be shy, come on out and throw a few discs and see what this game is all about.
