A cache on top of Cape Town's iconic landmark - the Lion's Head.
Probably one of the shortest yet most rewarding hikes close to the city, there is no need to describe the route in detail. Just follow the well established path from the parking area on Signall Hill Road to the top of the mountain.
The standard route spiralling to the summit is 2.4 km kong if you take 'the chains' and 2.7 km if you bypass them. The difference in altitude is about 350 meters, the top of the Head is 669 meters above sea level.
