After nearly 50 years of
manufacturing in this little town, the local factory will be
closed. It commenced as a cheese factory, and is currently a tomato
sauce factory, employing 146 people.
Manufacturing will be
moved to New Zealand.
Not only are those
working in the factory affected, but local growers that have
supplied the fresh produce will no longer have
contracts.
A local committee has
been established investigate ways to continue to employ local
people, and support farmers that have already suffered many years
of drought, followed by floods in early 2011.
The cache is hidden a
familiar manner containing logbook, pen and small
swaps.
