Geocache Description:

The cache is NOT at the above co-ordinates, these will take you to the entrance of The Joymead Gardens where you will need to gather the information to work out the final location. The final is a short walk away near the start of a footpath in the village of Farthingstone.
This is a straightforward multi cache placed in one of my favourite places to celebrate my 500th find.

The Joymead Gardens were originally given to the parishioners of Farthingstone in memory of Enid Jocelyn (known as Joy) daughter of Philip and Georgette Agnew.
I have always loved the gardens.I grew up in Farthingstone and as a child spent much time playing there. I even had my wedding photos taken in the gardens and I hope you enjoy them if you visit.
As Farthingstone is a small village I would ask that you do not do this cache at night as it may arouse suspicion from the houses opposite.
From time to time the gardens are unavailable to the public as they are used for private and/or village functions.At the time of placing the next event is a concert on 3rd September, 2011. I have included a link above to a village website which gives more details about the gardens and events. I have given the cache a 2.5 difficulty rating to reflect these restrictions. Gathering the required information is not really that difficult!!
To work out the final location you will need to investigate the Joymead Gardens and answer the following;

The small shelter is in the memory of Joy Agnews.
Joy died on 20th February 192A
The gardens were given to the village on the anniversary of her birthday BC July

The large cloisters are in memory of Ewan Siegfried Agnews
He was a leitenant in the D th Royal Irish lancers
The cloisters were erected in 193E

The sundial is in memory of Michael David Agnew Evans
The year shown on the sundial is 194F

The most recent addition of a toilet block was built in the year 20GH

The number of recessed alcoves in the large cloister walls plus the number of curved benches in the garden outside plus one (a note to cachers attempting this in the winter months that the benches have been put undercover for winter however the curved walls along which they should sit are still visible so should still be solveable) = IJ
