[0.10 miles from the Cow & Calf EarthCache, close to Steedish Land / Falling Rocks Quarry on Ilkley Moor.] A well-concealed treasure chest - partly referring to the adventure of finding it, partly referring to the theme of the contents - linking to my/our other favourite hobbies of storytelling and gaming! Therefore, behold: A vault of gaming treasures! The theme is: Take something gaming-related; leave something gaming-related!!!
*** Update: 22/06/20: The cache has been weather damaged and then "misplaced". I *WILL* fix it but due to Lockdown, I can't go shopping for bits and get up there just yet. It WILL return, though! *** +++UPDATED 3.8.18+++ Cache contents replaced after some foolish adventurer opened it in the rain and let the water in! New log and some new goodies. Please keep it dry! +++UPDATED 01.01.18+++ After my beloved ammo can was MUGGLED and I couldn't get to it to replace it, I have now re-started the cache! I'm heading up there today with a brand-new box, full of gaming goodies, including a brand-new, shrink-wrapped copy of "TOP HATS AND TREACHERY", gaming dice, a gaming comic, gaming rules for a couple of RPG's (Role-Playing Games), as well as a book of games for the family and a load of little odds and ends; PLUS a brand-new gorgeous log and lots of writing implements! ++++++++++++++++++++++ +++UPDATED 24.08.14+++ Came to check on and re-stock the cache. All well! Put in a handful of new "camouflage" dice, some steampunk-modified miniatures and also a full new boxed game : "GIANTS", for the first lucky game enthusiast! Bring waterproofs or defilable clothes - you're going to get muddy! ****** Ho, brave adventurer! Avoid the spoor and leavings of the local orcs and search deeper for true treasure. In this cache, you may find all things gaming-related: dice, tokens, spinners, templates, miniatures, maps and even sample and complete games themselves! [Note - all the games here are either my own or available for public download, etc. We're not going to be breaking any copyright here, folks!] I've always been interested in games and gaming, from hide-and-seek to tiddliwinks to Ghost Castle, Cluedo, HeroQuest, Space Crusade, Warhammer Quest, Dark World, various computer games (Final Fantasy, anyone?!), then onto college and Dungeons and Dragons (3rd Edition), then on to designing and developing games myself! Currently, I've moved away from making board games and card games and on to writing my first FRPG (Fantasy Role-Playing-Game) system! As anyone who knows me will tell you, the first time I do anything, I tend to over-do it: The game is currently 250+ pages and still growing!
