Trust doesn't rust 2 - Beeching's reshape Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

The_Simonator: Visited the site today. Unfortunately the cache has gone.
Presumed stolen by another cacher as the chance of muggle discovery up here is exceedingly remote and there was little probability of it leaving its hidey hole by natural causes.
This is a great shame as it was a very nice box. If anyone finds another cache in the area recently placed with a scrubbed pelicase than I'd be suspicious.
I will not be replacing it as i no longer live in this part of the country.

Geocache Description:

This cache is placed on the remains of the old railway line. It involves a steep climb from ground level up to the level of the track. The ground can be slippery, particularly if it has rained recently, but the trees make for good handholds.
Important: When accessing it from the road, go straight up to the high level, DO NOT go across the Farmer's fields first, you'll run into a dead end and you'll be trespassing.
Once you're at the top its an easy walk to GZ.

This cache is the same box from Trust doesn't Rust, relocated after an incident involving another cache in Wetherby which I didn't want to be responsible for a repeat of.

The old railway line used to run south out of Ripon, part of the Harrogate-Ripon-Thirsk-Northallerton route. The track is long gone, thanks to Dr Beeching, but the route can be seen for a few miles until it hits the Ripon bypass. The track bed remains, under a thin layer of soil, so the top level is an easy walk because the growth is thin. The area is also strewn with old parts, track bolts etc, so you might find a few souvenirs.

The cache is a medium sized clear Peli-case. Suitable for fairly small objects, such as a golf ball. Geocoins and trackables very welcome.

Watch out for the nettles, and please be careful, there's a steep climb involved. Multiple lacerations and puncture wounds can really spoil a weekend.

A good place to park a car is:

Congratulations to thecarricks14 for being the FTF of the original cache
and to mickey n dave (and mother) for FTF of this site.
