Geocache Description:

This traditional GeoCache is located on the top of Windy Peak at 9160 ft. elevation in Golden Gate Canyon State Park, Colorado. The view from this peak is absolutely breathtaking! Be prepared for a steep 3.4 mi. hike with a vertical rise of 1360 ft. Also be prepared to devote most of a day for this one, and bring plenty of water to drink.

To get to the trail head from Golden, CO go north on highway 93 about 1.5 miles and turn west onto Golden Gate Canyon Rd. After about 15 miles, turn right onto Crawford Gulch Rd, and then an immediate right, into the Golden Gate Visitor's Center. Purchase the $7.00 visitor's pass, and be absolutely sure to get a Park Trail Map (you can also download one from the park's website: (visit link) ). Stick the Park pass on your windshield to avoid a parking ticket.

From the Visitor's Center, go east 2.3 miles and park at the "Bridge Creek" trail head. The trail used is "Burro". All trails are well signed.
This is our first GeoCache, so we really hope you enjoy it!
