Cache is an old peanut jar hidden at the top (or as close as you can get) of Whitetop Mountain.
It is August 29, 2011 and our original plans for this particular week was to be out at the Outer Banks of North Carolina relaxing and enjoying our long-awaited beach vacation
Unfortunately Hurricane Irene altered our plans and we found ourselves scrambling at the last minute to come up with a new vacation. Among the new list of things to do was visiting Grayson Highlands State Park and Whitetop Mountain. We were so overwhelmed with the beauty up here that we just had to add another cache to this area.
To find this you will need to drive all the way up to the top and walk around the fence that is in place. This cache is hidden at about the highest point that you can actually get to. Among the initial items in the cache is a seashell TB and a bunch of other random shells (we were supposed to be on the beach after all!) We hope that you enjoy the beautiful surroundings up here as much as we did!
