Geocache Description:

This is a regular cache hidden in a lovely little park in Port Elliot. The cache contains all the usual goodies including a log book, stash note, some swaps and a pathtag for the first finder

This cache was originally going to be in one of the five massive pine trees in this park that looked just like the lively trees in the Lord of the Rings series.

Unfortunately in one way, but very fortunate in another by the time I got around to placing the cache. The day I went to the park with cache in hand ready to place it, there was a few council workers cutting all the trees down. Phew!! A day earlier and the cache would have been removed by the work men without even a single find or probably before the listing was published.

I spoke to the workmen who explained that they were cutting down a few of the trees, to let in the sunlight and upgrade the park for future use. Now the park has been finished, I’ve headed back and found a lovely new hidey hole in the remnants of the last remaining tree. In doing so have decided to leave the original name of the cache.

It might not look like one of Frodo's trees anymore but is much more practical for us muggle type humans.

So bring along a packed picnic lunch and enjoy the park as a reward after your find.

Cheers and Happy Hunting from Southern Cross Caching.
