How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

A solitary spot on the Blackstone River. A boat will be needed to access this cache. There are two locations you can use to launch your boat. If you have a canoe or kayak, you can put in at the parking area on John St. Larger boats can use the boat ramp on Madiera Ave, just off Broad St. The cache is located about a half mile from each of these places. If you decide to put in at John St, there is a cache (GC2BHWF) near the launch.

There is plenty of wildlife to enjoy out here, in particular the Great Blue Heron, which frequent this area. This little inlet is a home to many animals, from turtles to swans. Just south of the cache, the river takes you past Valley Falls Pond. This is a popular spot for both kayaking and fishing.

You can find more information for planning your excursion here.

Please exercise caution when boating on the Blackstone. Always use a personal floatation device (lifejacket) and use good judgement. There is a dam just south of the boat launch. Please do not venture past the safety barrier.

Please remember to bring a pen!
