The gun range is easily accessible but care should be taken when
entering the area, as the sides can be quite steep. There are
several entry points, some easier than others. Take the usual
precautions with the local flora and fauna. The area can become
overgrown in the summer or closed off if the sheep are eating to
control the growth. Stick to the paths as there may be broken glass
and other debris around.
Take time to explore the site. You will find a metal target
pocked by bullets. There is a small cinder block building riddled
with bullet holes. If you look carefully in the dirt, you will find
bullets and shell casings (hopefully no live ammo). If you head
W/NW about 500 feet from the backstop, you will come to the ruins
at other end of the range.
September 2005: checked on cache and added a new log book. Cache
is dry and in good shape but was not covered back up.
I BEG OF YOU, PLEASE COVER THE CONTAINER BACK UP SO THAT IT DOES
NOT DISAPPEAR AGAIN!
