Join us
for a fun day in the company of other cachers and friends on
Saturday, October 1st from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM (or so) at
Farmersburg's George Heap Memorial Park. Last year's event went
well and everyone that attended seemed to enjoy the fun, food and
friendship, so we thought another round was in order.
The star of the event is a game of GeoPoker conducted as a standard
5 card draw poker game. In this game you'll search for a series of
containers, all within a 6 mile radius of Famersburg, IN. At each,
you collect a card to build a poker hand. There are 5 easy finds to
build your hand, and 1 "Draw card" cache that will be somewhat more
difficult. Highest 5 card hand will be the winner and receive a
handsome trophy and the braggin' rights.
(Congrats to "Bear and Bird" who currently hold those braggin'
rights)
Of course, the game is optional. If you'd rather just hang out and
swap cachin' stories, that's fine too!
We'll supply chili and hot dogs to munch on, but feel free to bring
any goodies that you'd like to share. We ask that you supply your
own beverages. There will also be other outdoor games and
activities to pass the time before and after your hunt.
(We'll offer an
optional 50/50 drawing to help offset the cost of the
food.)
We hope to see everyone from last year and look forward to meeting
more of our fellow
cachers!
Please post a note if you plan to attend and how many will be in
your party so we'll be sure to have enough food and supplies on
hand.
