400 Stars Challenge
For this Challenge, a date may qualify from ANYTIME in your caching career and ANY LOCATION.
This cache IS at the listed coordinates!
Please read the description below for logging requirements.
The object of this challenge: Find caches, all within one calendar day, where the combined Difficulty and Terrain stars add up to a minimum of 400. This is quite the Star Search day. If you are curious to know your exact star total, I do know of two star counting macros on GSAK (StarChallenge and StarCount). There may be others and on other programs. How do you figure this out? Lets use this cache as an example:400 Stars Challenge - Difficulty:
Terrain:
= 3.5 Stars for Difficulty + 1.5 Stars for Terrain
3.5 + 1.5 = 5 Stars for this example cache
The Rules of this Challenge:
-
All of your finds must be found on the same calendar day.
Please list the date and number of finds you found on that date. Since we are talking hundreds of caches, you do not have tally the sum of those stars, but please consider the average number of one-day cache finds needed for 400+ stars. If your average is 1.5/1.5 you would need 134 finds in a day, which I believe is the average for the CSJ (Way of Saint James).
The sum of all stars, Difficulty/Terrain, must equal or exceed 400 stars.
You can use any type of Groundspeak-listed cache finds.
-
Star values are to be calculated as of the day of your find. Changes in star value, either up or down, will not effect your final star count. (Changes to star ratings are rare but it does happen)
Logging Requirements:To log a “Found it” for this cachein addition to finding the cache and signing the logbook, you must have:
Found enough caches in one calendar day where the combined Difficulty and Terrain star ratings add up to a minimum of 400 stars.
