At peak operating hours each day, more than 2000 buses of the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transit Authority (LAC MTA) provide transportation to tens of thousands of riders across a 1400 sq. mile area of operations. There are more than 18,500 stops on nearly 200 separate bus lines. That’s a lot of stop ‘n go! All of the MTA buses run on compressed natural gas (CNG), the largest such fleet in the nation. They have logged a record 450+ million miles since 1993! Here in Chatsworth, Metro Bus Yard SFV-8 is one of several dispatch and service yards that help keep these marvels of mass transportation serviced and on the move.
