Geocache Description:

Wat Sila Ngu is on the beach side between Lamai and Hua Thanon.

It is a really very quiet place when you go down from the
recently renovated Chedi to the cache. At present (2011) there are
three monks living in the temple. It was founded in 1935 and the
chedi contains the bones of the founder Mr. Seeton and of a very
big golden coloured snake that died at that location. This snake
was the reason for Mr. Seeton to create the idea for a temple. Sila
Ngu means “Golden Snake”.

Said to contain a relic of the Lord Buddha, the golden chedi
facing the temple's entrance is a popular place of worship. Many
local travelling shows and even visiting TV stars sometimes use the
temple grounds here for their performances.

Hope you will enjoy the place. In the background of the right
side you will see Hua Thanon, a Muslinme village with a mosque. We
advise to walk through the village. It gives you an additional view
of Samui life..

We informed one of the monks about the hidden cache.
