A very peaceful place to rest between S. Padre Island and the King Ranch. Perhaps the Whistling Ducks will lullaby you to sleep.
A restful spot for many birds, bugs, turtles, and rabbits is located here along the canal. As a bonus, at the right time of day and in season, one often sees Black-bellied Whistling Ducks sitting along the fence.
At one time these goose-like ducks were quite rare, but now are expanding their habitat. They are a pleasure to watch.
Owner gives permission to enter private property to get to GZ.
Access to parking area may be limited after rains as the road(s) leading to cache are dirt roads at the edge of active fields. 4WD works best but use your own discretion.
