Ma troisième Wherigo vous invite à un parcours de 11 étapes (environ 1 km) dans un quartier du centre-ville de Montréal, riche en histoire: Le Paper Hill. Prévoir environ 1 heure.
My third Wherigo takes you into on 11 steps tour (approx. 1 km) into a Montreal downtown area rich in history : The Paper Hill. Expect around 1 hour.

Au début du XXe siècle, le secteur subit d’importantes transformations. De nombreux bâtiments résidentiels sont démolis pour faire place à des bâtiments industriels dont plusieurs sont reliés à l’industrie de l’imprimerie d’où l’appellation du secteur Paper Hill. Les édifices Gillette (1911), Wilson (1912), Unity (1912), Southam (1916) sont des exemples qui témoignent du passé industriel du secteur. Le secteur de Paper Hill constitue un ensemble urbain et patrimonial d’un grand intérêt tant par la diversité des périodes qu’il réunit que par la qualité des édifices qui en témoignent. Il s’est développé de part et d’autre de la rue de La Gauchetière en tirant parti de la topographie. Le secteur compte de nombreux édifices industriels de grand intérêt pour leur architecture et bénéficie d’une aire de protection qui assure la protection de son environnement immédiat par la ministre de la Culture du Québec.
In the early twentieth century, the area underwent significant transformations. Many residential buildings are demolished to make way for industrial buildings, many of which are related to the printing industry hence the name Hill Paper sector. Buildings Gillette (1911), Wilson (1912), Unity (1912), Southam (1916) are examples that reflect the industrial past of the area. The Paper Hill sector is an urban and heritage ensemble of great interest because of the high quality of the buildings spanning a number of different periods. It grew up on both sides of De la Gauchetière Street in accordance with the topography. The sector is also home to several industrial buildings of great interest for both their architecture and their use of concrete, and also benefits from its location in a protected area, ensuring that its immediate vicinity is protected by Quebec’s Minister of Culture.
Votre visite débute au coin des rues McGill et Notre-Dame. À chaque étape vous devrez vous rendre dans une zone prédéfinie où vous attendent des instructions et une question à répondre pour passer à l'étape suivante.
Your tour begins at the corner of McGill and Notre-Dame. At each step you must go in a predefined area where you'll receive instructions and a question to answer to advance to the next step.

Votre principale difficulté sera d'obtenir une réception GPS acceptable pour compléter le jeu. Pour cette raison, j'ai créé des zones assez grandes. À chaque point zéro, les éléments à identifier peuvent être à plus de 20 mètres. Laissez le temps à votre GPS de bien de positionner, soyez patient et surtout... amusez-vous!
Your main challenge will be to get an acceptable GPS reception to complete the game. For this reason, I have created large areas. At each Zero Point, the elements to identify can be far over 20 meters. Allow time for your GPS to position well, be patient and above all ... have fun!
