This is a small drive by cache.
This area is the highest section of road between Balclutha and Dunedin and in the winter can be closed due to snow. On most days you can see Kaitangata, Lake Tuakitoto and the Nugget point light house at Kaka Point.
From here you can travel up through Hillend over the top of Mt Stewart and arrive at Waitahuna. Waitahuna is on the Manuka Gorge Hwy which leads to Lawrence and beyond to Central Otago.
At the top of Hillend the road becomes gravel but is still a decent road which at Mt Stewart is over 400m above sea level.
The cache is a 450mm snap-lock container, big enough for swaps, coins and travel bugs.
