Geocache Description:

Near Barstow. It's an easy stroll in the open desert, but bring water and watch for critters.

Located at the exact confluence of N35° and W117°. (For more information on confluences, see Confluence.) The cache is an ammo box.

Take Fossil Bed Road to within a mile of the site, or (if you have a vehicle with high ground clearance) follow the service road which parallels the nearby power lines to get even closer. Drive carefully. Parts of the road are sometimes washed out and there are some spine crunching surprises if you're not cautious. Confluences are intellectually satisfying. And if that's not a good enough reason, Rainbow Basin, Coon Canyon, and Owl Canyon campground are all at hand. A good excuse for a day in the dirt.
