You will be looking for a camo-covered preform container, above the flood line. The hiding spot is along the trail beyond the bench, out of sight of anyone sitting. There is a nearly hidden Hogle Wildlife Sanctuary trail head, marked by a granite marker, at the sharp corner on Eaton Avenue, off Putney Road. The trail goes between houses and down to the West River and the Meadows.
Since there isn't much room at the trail head, I parked in the large dirt lot next to the Veteran's Memorial Bridge. You can walk up to Eaton Ave. or take this alternate route -- Cross Putney Road and go behind the fire hydrant and around the guardrail to a hidden narrow trail. Follow that along the river and go left at the fork to meet up with the main trail. Continue to the boardwalk, go right at the fork, and on to the bench.
The area around the bench has been cleared and the cache disappeared, a few years ago. The cache is now in a location out of sight of the bench.
This trail can also be accessed from the Retreat, off Route 30, but it's a longer and more difficult walk.
This cache was released for the Common Flash Mob event held on Sept. 4, 2011. Congratulations to the group of nine flash mobbers, led by bren1467, for being first to find!
