A short multi to illustrate the history of Furulund.
Furulund är till stor del konsul Schmitzs skapelse. Det började 1888 när Malmö Yllefabriks AB skaffade mark i Furulund på grund av att huvudfabriken brann ner. Järnvägen, det korta avståndet till Malmö och tillgången på vatten från Kävlingeån gjorde att man hamnade här. Fabriken låg nere vid ån men den finns idag inte kvar. Längs Drottninggatan finns dock en del arbetarbostäder kvar.
Konsul Schmitz var en arbetsgivare av den gamla stammen: ”en arbetsmänniska och en pliktmänniska av sällsynt resning”. Han har tillskrivits uttryck som: ”Anställda ska vila på söndagen så att de orkar arbeta desto mer under veckans övriga dagar” och ”Arbete övervinner allt”.
Bysten av konsul Schmitz står idag där infarten till fabriken en gång låg. Bysten gjordes av konstnären Oscar Antonsson, intendent vid National museum i Stockholm.
På baksidan av bysten står tre ord. Antalet bokstäver i dessa ord ger er tre tal A, B och C. som ger er slut koordinaterna tillsammans med:

Furulund is to a large extent the creation of consul Schmitz. It started in 1888 when Malmoe Wool Factory moved here and turned five houses into a society with thousand inhabitants. The factory lay down by the river but is now gone. Consul Schmitz was an employer of the old school with sayings like: work conquers everything. The bust of consul Schmitz stands today were the entrance to the factory once were.
