St. Osage Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

VVilliam: I don't think I'll be able to find another container for this spot, and water was always an issue, so I'm archiving this cache. Hopefully it'll free up some nearby spots in Del Ray for new hides. Thanks everyone for visiting and I hope you enjoyed the beautiful tree nearby.

Geocache Description:

This cache celebrates our favorite tree in Del Ray! This Osage Orange has a lot of character, and we hope you enjoy St. Asaph park too. Perhaps you'll find one of its big green bumpy fruits.

Park is closed from 10pm - 5am.

The best time to find this cache is year-round on Saturdays from 8am to noon, when you're just 2 blocks from the Del Ray Farmers' Market (see waypoint, at the corner of E. Oxford and Mount Vernon). It's great for vegetables, fruits, and especially empanadas.

This cache also remembers the lost trees of Del Ray. Many of the local old beautiful trees fell in a downburst on August 5, 2010. There is a Google Map that shows the extent of the damage well. Luckily this one survived!

Congrats flowerman on the FTF!
