An easy walk through the Blue Mountain trail system, close to the base of Craigleith Ski Hill. You can walk, ride a bike or park close by on the streets on either side of the cache. Fine for pets too!
Each spring my two kids look forward to wandering to a little pond where they try to catch tadpoles and little frogs. Unfortunately, once the spring run off is over, the little pond dries up, so if you are looking in this area at any time other you will just see a clearing with a damp depression in the area. There is a walk/bike trail that runs right by the pond and the cache. Because we are not sure when it will fill with water or how high it will get, we chose not to hide the cache right at the pond area...
There is some poison ivy in the area, but we were careful to choose a spot where this isn't a problem. Just watch out! Blue Mountain has it everywhere!!!
This is a good kid's cache - medium sized container - we initially filled it with playing cards, marbles, toys etc. and would like to see it continue this way so kids can enjoy the find!!
Enjoy the cache - it's our first hide so feedback is greatly appreciated!!
