Workyticket: As there appears to have been no response from the CO we are archiving this cache listing to prevent it from continually showing up in search lists and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements in the area. Geocache Description:

The third of the Old Wells Ring of caches. Medium size container with a pencil, a cache card and a log book, along with trades. Please re-hide cache out of sight. The whole circular walk is approx 2.5km.

To get to this cache, follow the field around, keeping the hedge row on your right. As it is a grazing field, you may walk across it, but beware that the grass can get long and thistles grow in it for a lot of the year.

Approaching this hide, you will see some of the newest, eastern-most quarrying area from the Moons Hill Quarry. Here they dig out Andesitic Lava, a volcanic rock, which is very unusual as this is the only location of it in the whole south west, and it is rare in the whole of the UK.

Local residents have reported small earth tremors nearby, so this is an extremely interesting area for geology. The nearby site is more of a dumping ground, and is not actively being quarried.

If you hear sirens, or loud explosions do not panic. The quarry carries out controlled explosions as a method of quarrying stone. You are safe, but they can be quite loud.

The cache is a clip lock box with space for trades and trackable items. Please return it as found, making sure it is re-hidden out of sight.

I'm currently looking for people who might be able to help look after my caches whilst I'm away undertaking a doctorate. If you think you might be able to help, please do let me know by contacting me at geocachingjohn@googlemail.com (If you can't help maintain them long term, it would be wonderful if you could take along some spare logs/pencils/etc. to keep these caches alive, just in case)
