Geocache Description:

The cache is located in a local baseball park. Since the original cache we hid nearby has been lost due to a cell tower being built we decided to put in a new cache for all to seek. It is hidden very different from the first. Please hide the cache back carefully for the next cacher to find.

This ballfield was a part of the Textile Mill League which was active especially in the south from the late 1800s - 1950s. The nearby textile mill encourged workers to participate in recreational activities. The area around was part of the mill community where the workers lived, worked, played and were buried. Some of the men later went on to become major league players. It is now where the 13 + year olds play. Our son played here for several years before high school. When you sit on the bleachers you get a real sense of history at this place. It hasn't changed much. Check out the left field, it may remind you of of the Houston Astro' Minute Maid Park.
