Geocache Description:

The tenth of the Old Wells Ring of caches. Small container with a pencil, a cache card and a log book, along with trades. Please re-hide cache out of sight. The whole circular walk is approx 2.5km

To get to this cache, walk along the path, past the gate to the cabin on your right. Keep walking until you arrive at very noticeable path off to your right, that leads slightly back towards the way you walked. Follow this path to the end.

When laying this cache we were intrigued by the carved slab of stone lying on the bank. We have no idea why this stone is here but we do know that there is a religious sect that meets at the Tower. Perhaps it has something to do with them? Perhaps it's just pretty.

We also noticed (and you can see them from satellite pictures) the field of Christmas trees being grown for sale in December. Dependent on the time of year that you visit this cache there may be more, or fewer trees that you can see. When we placed the cache (September) they each had a plastic tag on them, like you might see in the shop when buying one!

There is a good view from this cache spot, looking out and down onto Downhead.

The cache is a micro, a specimen pot. Please return it as found, making sure it is re-hidden out of sight.

I'm currently looking for people who might be able to help look after my caches whilst I'm away undertaking a doctorate. If you think you might be able to help, please do let me know by contacting me at geocachingjohn@googlemail.com (If you can't help maintain them long term, it would be wonderful if you could take along some spare logs/pencils/etc. to keep these caches alive, just in case)
