Geocache Description:

The site is easily accessible with parking available. The cache is family friendly and is stocked with some goodies and a travel bug.

Amqui train station was built in 1910 and is a historic landmark in the Madison Community. The original station was saved from demolition by none other than Johnny Cash, who had it moved to Hendersonville. Upon Johnny Cash's death in 2003, the depot was relocated on Madison Street, site of the first Madison Station (1860), thanks to the efforts of community leaders and Discover Madison, Inc., a non-profit preservation organization. Today, visitors can once again experience the sights and sounds of passing trains while sitting on the front porch of Amqui Station.
