Not just another hole in the wall
How Geocaching Works
Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer
The posted coords will not take you to just another hole in the wall but will take you to the exact opposite of a typical urban hole in the wall- The Merchandise Mart, which at the time of its completion in 1930 was the largest building in the world in terms of floor space- it is so large that it had its own zip code for a while. Even now this building ranks in the 30s in terms of floor space 80+ years later. This massive art deco building was the creation of legendary Chicago retailer Marshall Field and Co and designed by the well known firm of Graham, Anderson, Probst and White. It was designed with the idea of a single nationwide wholesale center under one roof and incorporates concepts of a warehouse, department store and skyscraper into one iconic structure along the Chicago River. If you have some time take a stroll thru the lower levels which are open to the public (M-F until 5pm and limited hours on Sat usually till 3pm and closed Sun)and check out this Chicago landmark.
To find the final gather information from 8 sculptures of legendary American entrepreneurs and businessmen which are 8 times larger than life size. The final which is 8 times smaller than a film canister is at N 41 53.ABC W 87 38.DEF.
