Geocache Description:

You are looking for a container approximately the size of a 35 mm film canister.
Closest Parking at 34 52.332 092 39.191

Please be aware that most of these OT caches present a difficult problem with maintenance. If you attempt any of the caches in this series, it would be greatly appreciated if you are equipped with several replacement containers and plenty of logs. You will be right at ground zero, if C/O has to make a special trip to maintain any of these it would involve a round trip of approximately 50 miles and a hike of anywhere up to 9 miles round trip.

This is a continuation of the OT caches that begins on the north side of the lake. The trail on this section winds through a heavily wooded landscape and the terrain is mostly flat. The steps just west of highway 10 near the parking area have been replaced and are now much safer and easier. Be sure to take plenty of water along especially during the hotter months. Beyond OT 83, the trail is a bit difficult to follow in a few places. Be sure to look for the blue paint when the trail becomes obscure. If you walk any distance at all and don’t see some blue, you have likely missed a turn. If going into this area during hunting season, be sure to wear orange (I saw shot gun shells and a few spent cartridges along the trail). Not recommended for night caching, as one could easily get lost, or stumble into one of the hazards along the trail and get injured. Have fun and be safe.
