How observant Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Hoosier_Reviewer: Since there has been no response to my previous note, I am archiving the cache.

While we feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you for a reasonable amount of time, we cannot do so indefinitely. In light of the lack of communication regarding this geocache, it has been archived to free up the area for new placements. You will not be able to unarchive this listing. If you haven’t done so already, please pick up this geocache or any remaining bits as soon as possible.

"If a geocache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance it will not be unarchived."

Thank you,

Geocache Description:

(Container update 10/18/12:the container was stolen, so it is now a micro sized silver bison tube type container. Much easier to find)READ ON FOR TIPS ON STEALTH, and a short history of this location. The shape of the container doesn't allow for very many trade items, but I didn't list as a micro because it is larger than that and some cachers steer clear of micros. There is room for pathtags/ small coins and such.

This cache will bring you to a place I remember visiting on a field trip when I was in elementary school.

DePauw University's McKim Observatory is an excellent example of a well-equipped late 1800's observatory. The Observatory houses many of its original instruments, including a 9.53 inch Clark refracting telescope and a Fauth and Co. meridian transit telescope. Built in 1884, McKim Observatory is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Located in a residential neighborhood approximately one kilometer from the main campus, McKim is currently used by: students enrolled in astronomy classes, independent student research projects, and the public during open houses.

Parking on the street in front of the property is legal, but be aware that it may make neighbors aware of your presence, and someone is likely to take their dog on a walk just to check out who is parked there, as they have with us once or twice. You can park up the street and walk into the circle without being noticed. The location of the cache allows you to be hidden so that one person can sign the log and replace it without having to take it back to your car. The stealthiest place to sign is right where you find it. Please log any maintenence needs so that we will know about them and act accordingly (wet or full log, missing container, etc).

This should be an easy cache to find, so if you didn't find it, then it's likely that it was muggled. Please have no shame in logging DNF here if you didn't find it, as this is the only way we'll know to replace or hide a little better.
