Another lovely spot to rest up, chill out and watch the mullet jumping . Located along the town basin walkway art trail stretching from the Marina to the Wave and Waka sculpture. Cache is log only,magnetic on a new sculpture named "Ponga" .Made from Steel,Wood & Rope Ponga is large piece based on a giant hinaki or eel pot.Visitors are encouraged to explore it,climb it ,walk through it and generally interact with this interesting piece of art.This cache replaces "Ebb" which has had a history of muggling/ relocations . This would have to be one of my favourite area's of Whangarei and is a great place to relax,spend some quality family time and admire the great artwork and heritage trail provided for you as part of the Town Basin Revitalisation Project.
