Just off an established trail in the Coconino Forest on Mt. Elden.
This is Charlie's Rock. Along with his trusy friends Tippy and Shorty, Charlie went on walks over Mt Elden with his faithful companion, known to "the league" kids as Goong Goong.
Charlie loved catching sticks. If they passed this rock during a walk, he would climb to the "stick catching position" at the top to wait for a stick to be thrown to him. He wouldn't leave that spot until he successfully caught one.
Charlie passed away in 2008 but we will always remember him and his favorite rock.
