This is my very 1st cache hide. Figured I may as well contribute to the cause. Was fishing at nearby Geary State Fishing Lake one Sunday afternoon and decided to search for geocaches in the White City, KS, area. Anyone that is familiar with the local area knows that the quickest way to White City is travel south on US HWY 77 and take W Skiddy Road, and then follow the other back roads.
Well, after finding the caches in White City, I headed home the same route out of the area as I had traveled in. Somewhere along the route, I had become a bit "confused" as to my actual location and missed my turn.
Eventually passed by this small out-of-the-way cemetery in Morris County. Figured that there just had to be a cache already hidden at this spot, but discovered that nothing was hear. Waited a month and still not claimed. Just had to place a cache here.
As to the name of the cache, when I first "discovered" this cemetery the song "Don't Fear the Reaper" by Blue Oyster Cult was playing on the radio. When I went to scout out a potential hiding spot a few weeks later, the same song was playing on the radio again. What are the odds?!? Took that as an omen - besides, we all will have to meet the Reaper someday so why be afraid??
The cache container that you will be searching for is a MATCH STICK.
This is a cemetery so please, as always, be respectful of the premises and the population. Also, no searching at night.
UPDATE: October 10, 2017 - Replaced missing container.
