Geocache Description:

A series of 13 traditional caches plus a bonus cache not far from Wimborne Minster. Good parking, gravel tracks mostly flat with a few gentle inclines. Several Caches contain a letter and number on the log to help work out the co-ords for the bonus cache. Your walk is approx. 3.5 miles and should take between two and three hours.
PLEASE ENSURE YOU HAVE A PEN WITH YOU.

This is a series of caches placed in King Down which is an area of farm land to the North West of Wimborne Minster and quite close to Badbury Rings. There is actually a bit of a connection to Badbury Rings here as you can see two ancient Tumuli or burial mounds away to your right as you commence your walk from the car parking area. On your way round this series, you will see stunning views across mainly arable farm land and a variety of lovely buildings. Wild flowers, birds and other animals are in plentiful supply. Also you will pass by an oak woodland that has been in place for 700 years - there is an information board at the site. During the harvest season, July to September, you may well be lucky to see a combine harvester in action.
You will be walking on very good, wide gravel tracks but do be aware that these are in use by farm vehicles on a regular basis.
Parking is at: N50 49.874 W002 01.457

We would like to say a very special thank you to the National Trust for allowing us to place this series of caches here. We really hope you enjoy your visit here and take extra care to replace caches carefully so as not to disturb the area.

PLEASE ENSURE YOU HAVE A PEN WITH YOU

Congratulations To 8paws4legs & 57251 for the FTF
