At the Pond Traditional Cache

This cache is located in the Polletts Cove area of Cape Breton. A detailed description of how to get to the top of the mountain can be read on "Stairway to Heaven" cache page. The terrain is listed at 5 due to the steepness of the terrain. Once at the top there are large meadows that can be easily walked. The cache is located close to a pond at the top of the mountain hence the name. We did not see the pond from the cache as the cloud was too thick when placed. It may be visible from here?
The container is a medium sized lock and lock. Cache contained a log, NS coins and ear bud headphones at time of placement. Did not have a writing device with me so bring your own. Hopefully you will have good visibility and a great view from up here. Bring plenty of water,snacks and gloves would come in handy climbing the scree. Also bring a friend to share stories etc. I heard that there is a rough moose trail from somewhere close to the pond that leads down to "Berry Hill Lookoff" and from there down to Pollettes Cove to the norhtern most meadow. If you find it then please share co=ords if possible for future cachers.
We travelled by boat to the cove. The wind has a big influence on if a beach landing can be made. The hike from the cove to the end of the road is about 7km and took us 3 hrs with a couple of rest stops along the way.
