Trail of the Ancients
For the history buffs out there, I hope you find this area as interesting as I did. Once you find the cache, take out your compass. Walk ten paces E 90°. Turn and face NW 40°. The clearing ahead of you is Sulfur Springs Draw. This was once a flowing waterway that served many early inhabitants of the Lamesa area. Depending on how far back in history you want to go, this area served early Paleo-Indians as a place to hunt and camp. Later, it was inhabited by Native American tribes such as the Apaches and Comanche’s. During the Old West days, it served as a route for ranchers of the area traveling to the large railhead in Big Spring, TX. Check it out on Google Maps satelite view for the full experience! BYOP.
