History caches are the best, but some of the best locations are taken. If you plant a cache you can't place another for .1 of a mile beside it, as the crow flies. This is tricky sometimes so a pretty good GPS and not a phone should be used to plant caches.
History is good for kids and adults because we forget it all; the kids sucked it out of us since they know it all. Anyway, learning more about your area is good and these caches are most often found inside of a minute each time.
