Geocache Description:

Minnie Ha Ha Park

Minnie Ha Ha Park is on the banks of the Meramec River and once was called Minnie Ha Ha Beach. This park offers large picnic pavilions, several well-equipped playgrounds, loads of parking, at least two soccer fields and scenic overlooks of the river. Woods and winding paths with benches alongside make this a place to pass a dreamy day. The park's name, Minnie Ha Ha, is said to mean "laughing water" in the Dakota language. It is also said to be the name of Hiawatha's wife, according to an 1855 poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.

Look for the rebuilding of the bridge crossing the river into Fenton.
