Traditional 2L lock-and-lock box containing the usual goodies, placed on the bank next to the riverside path. Aimed at cacher's who are on a gentle stroll around the river, or who are in town and fancy making a quick grab!

This side of the river has the advantage of offering great views of the Cathedral and the Old Fulling Mill on the opposite side. The best place can be found by continuing upstream (towards Prebends Bridge) and stopping at the cottage. Most of the pictures of Durham Cathedral seem to be taken in this location - you can get some great shots, especially on Summery or Wintery days.
The cache is placed just off the river side path on the bank. Assuming you're starting around Framwellgate Bridge, walk upstream, and just before you're in line with the Cathedral, look for a set of "natural steps" formed by the wall, and tree trunk (photo). Hop up onto the bank here and the cache is hidden very close to that location.
Should be easy to spot - we've tried to make it a "textbook hide".
Try to cover it well, and watch your back! Muggles usually approach from both directions! :D
