Geocache Description:

The Green County Barn Quilts project started in 2008, and by the end of 2010 the 100th barn quilt was installed. Barn quilts are painted wooden squares (designed like one block of a real quilt pattern), generally 8 x 8 feet in size. Some are located on "working" barns, and others are displayed on "retired" barns. It's not as challenging as geocaching, but hunting for the barn quilt locations is a true adventure in experiencing the roads less traveled of the Green County countryside.

The barn has been used both for dairy and for swine. It was purchased by Julene’s father in law Marvin Elmer. Julene is an active member of the Green County Ag Chest, who serves as the "queen mother" for the high school girls who serve as Ag Chest Queens (ag ambassadors). The Barn Quilt is called Queen’s Jewels.

Visit this quilt's web page at Green County Barns Quilts.

The Geocache Notification Form has been submitted to Steve Johnston of the Wisconsin DNR. Geocaches placed on Wisconsin Department of Natural Resource managed lands require permission by means of a notification form.
