Geocache Description:


The Green County Barn Quilts project started in 2008, and by the end of 2010 the 100th barn quilt was installed. Barn quilts are painted wooden squares (designed like one block of a real quilt pattern), generally 8 x 8 feet in size. Some are located on "working" barns, and others are displayed on "retired" barns. It's not as challenging as geocaching, but hunting for the barn quilt locations is a true adventure in experiencing the roads less traveled of the Green County countryside.

The property has been in the family for 50 years, and the barn was built in the 1920's. Construction is stone base with mostly hand-cut logs. It was originally a dairy barn, and is now used for raising calves. The Blain school was on the property in the 1900's. This Barn Quilt is called Palace Star.
