The nearby market town of Stokesley has been flooded on many occasions prior to the construction of its successful flood defence scheme in 1978.
A flood diversion channel links the River Leven with the Elder Beck, acting as a by-pass, to prevent flooding of the town. A public footpath runs down its side and is a pleasant route popular with dog walkers.
Parking for several cars is available off the A173 at A N 54 28.265 W 001 10.255; a short distance to ground zero.
The cache is a small container, 18 cm x 3 cm, with just enough room for a log and a short pencil.
To find the cache, please note, there is no need to damage any vegetation, go near the water or climb any fences.
Please record any DNF and ensure the cache is well hidden when returning.
