This cache is placed in honor of my trip to Seneca Lake in July 2011 and the supernatural experience I had after visiting this location.
On a geocaching adventure, my friend Team Proline took me past the Christopher Willis House in Dresden, NY which has the distinction of being haunted. The residence was built around 1830 in the architectural style of Greek Revival/Victorian/Italianate, and is rumored to have been a "Safe House" during the Underground Railroad Era. Perhaps they are the spirits of long-ago slaves which are still safely harbored within its walls.
The Christopher Willis House was posted to the National Register of Historic Places on August 24, 1994 (Reference Number 94000967). Although privately owned, this property remains vacant. Please do not enter without permission.
