Vtaltos_1's 1000th Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

j.brand: So I stopped by today for some owner maintenance. The Ammo can is gone. The tree the ammo can was in is gone. The woods the tree was in is gone. The bulldozers have gone "scorched earth" on the area. Another charming little pocketwoods is no more. Not sure why. As near as I can tell the adjacent buildings are all empty.

I may try to place a commemorative cache, for the commemorative ache.

Thanks to all who hunted and found it.

Geocache Description:

Commemorating 1000 finds by Vtaltos_1. You're hunting for the traditional silver ammo can hidden in a very traditional manner.

Don got me started in geocaching. He loaned me a GPSr for a couple days. There was a cache a few hundred feet from my house. The rest has history. We were both racing to 1000 - he got there first by a few days. He just crossed the 1000 mark (I guess that means you're a real cacher now).

I wanted to hide this high in a tree (he loves climbing trees), in the middle of a swap or lake (he loves wading), but a 50cal, silver ammo can in a tree seemed like a bad idea. I did give it a try though (see GC2RD2W).

You're looking for an ammo can, so there is lots of room for swag and travelers. Nice prize for FTF.

Lots of parking nearby. Minor bushwacking. Have fun!
