Geocache Description:

This series is placed in memory of my great-grandmother Ruby Marie Elizabeth Kemp page. We know very little about her, and she remains something of a family mystery to this day. This series highlights some interesting facts related to her, and is meant to highlight genealogy as a hobby that we find sometimes intersects with geocaching.

This cache was placed to reflect Marie's brother WLS Kemp who died before we could connect with him. He is the first of the family to move from Toronto to Guelph, and was one of the first three graduates from the OAC section of U of Guelph to earn his masters. After graduation, he taught high school and then worked for the university. His thesis and area of study were all focused on botany, which can be accessed in the U of G archives to this day. He is buried in Woodlawn cemetery in Guelph.
We named this cache after Wheatfield park, which our team has always assumed this trail is a continuance of, even though a map disagrees with us.
The stamp depicts the OAC crest. Please bring your own pen and ink/marker.
Parking can be found on the street, near the trail head. Take the path and boardwalk until the boardwalk gives you a side ramp to exit from that leads to an overgrown path. This path may flood in the spring/heavy rain. Co-ords were taken as best we could given the heavy number of trees.

The waypoint is there as a requirement for posting a letterbox and I made it public so that there is no confusion as to the final, as is sometimes the case with letterbox hybrids.
