Asphalt Mountains Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

905kaa: My 4WD's engine was wrecked recently leaving me with no feasible access in the near future to any of my caches. Too expensive to get a replacement engine for the second time in six months!! :(

Regretably, I am therefore having to archive all of my Dubai / UAE based caches in accordance with the Geocaching guidelines.

I do hope you have enjoyed visiting them over the past few months and that they have taken people to the various fascinating places where they are placed. Those that remain will still be there so anyone else is free to take them over if they choose or to retrieve any travelling items that may be in them.

Regards

Danny

Geocache Description:

Hidden close to two asphalt mountains in the vicinity of the now anandoned Tiger Woods Dubai.

The cache is a small plastic container with a notebook, pen and initially toy car - this time a Porsche 911 Carrera in blue. The cache is hidden from casual view / discovery but some searching at the coordinates given should produce a result. The area is open desert but close by are the roads built to serve the now abandoned Tiger woods Dubai golf course and resort. These roads are open and make an interesting drive especially on the dual carriageway section past the tree nursery and up towards great views of Dubai and an airfield.

You can access the location via a tarmac / gravel track from a roundabout on Al Quadra Street / Road or via the Jebel Ali - Lahbab road (heading in the direction of Jebel Ali). There are some fine sand dunes in the area if people wish to explore. There are homes on the approach but set back way off the road.
