The Oasis Traditional Cache

905kaa: My 4WD's engine was wrecked recently leaving me with no feasible access in the near future to any of my caches. Too expensive to get a replacement engine for the second time in six months!! :(

Regretably, I am therefore having to archive all of my Dubai / UAE based caches in accordance with the Geocaching guidelines.

I do hope you have enjoyed visiting them over the past few months and that they have taken people to the various fascinating places where they are placed. Those that remain will still be there so anyone else is free to take them over if they choose or to retrieve any travelling items that may be in them.

Geocache Description:

Small plastic box with locking lid in a fairly remote location adjacent to a fenced Oasic and a plain with lots of camels at the time the cache was placed.

A nice remote cache off the road between Bab Al Shams resort and the Sweihan Truck Road. The cache is reachable via a gravel track hat should for the most part be accessible by 2WD drive (albeit with some spirited driving through a number of soft sand patches. the access road climbs over a high ridge and then a large plain unfolds n front. Coordinates should ring the searcher to the cache. It is not in or beside the Oasic which is fenced off as it appears to be a water supply.

An alternative acces route comes from the East then South via a line of pylons that could be reached via a road that goes towards another of my caches in this region "Still Life in it Yet". That road yields some potentially very rewarding surprises for those keen on wildlife.

The cache contains a notebook, pen and a toy car, a silver mercedes CLK. Please send it on its way.
